George M. Williams is a retired professor of Asian religions. He first published on Svāmī Vivekānanda, specializing in religions of modern India. However, because he taught courses about religion in India, China, and Japan, he became extensively involved in each culture. After retirement, he moved to Hawai‘i to volunteer in a Culture Center there.
